Hands-on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Training Course

RuralNet Associates Limited is a development consultancy company, established in August 1999 in Lusaka, Zambia. Over the years, RuralNet has executed many projects in different thematic areas out of which more than 75% have been in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&). These assignments have been for several national governments, multilateral and bilateral donor agencies, international and local NGOs, academic institutions and think tanks and other consultancy companies in Africa and beyond. RuralNet has thus a wealth of hands-on experience in all aspects of M&E including capacity building (training). For instance, RuralNet was engaged by the European Union (EU) funded Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry Capacity Building Project from September 2008 to April 2009 focusing on M&E. The firm has also undertaken capacity building in Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) for the Zambia Social Investment Fund (ZAMSIF) as well as Plan International among others.  

RuralNet  is pleased to announce and invites applications for a 3 weeks course in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) to be held at the Commonwealth Youth Centre, Lusaka from 3rd June to 21st June 2013 starting from 16:30 hours to 20 hours.

The training will be facilitated by RuralNet professional staff with hands on skills and a great wealth of experience  in all aspects of M&E including data collection (both qualitative and quantitative) using mobile data collection techniques (Samsung Galaxy Tablets).

The target group for the course includes middle and senior managers, M&E officers, and supervisors as well as other interested persons in government ministries, private sector institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Faith Based Organizations (FBOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and public and private training institutions. Practically, all those involved formulating, managing, supervising, monitoring and evaluating development interventions are all welcome. Graduates who want to enhance their M&E skills in a practical way to enhance employment opportunities will find the training greatly beneficial.

o    Monitoring and Evaluation Components

o    Monitoring and Evaluation Frameworks

o    Introduction to Logical Framework

o    Operationalisation of Monitoring and Evaluation

o    Hands-on Quantitative and Qualitative Mobile Data Collection (using Samsung Galaxy Tablets) i.e. field work

o    Data Analysis including hands-on use of SPSS

University/College graduate
